Privacy Policy

Effective 6 July 2026 · HomeCareCompass is operated by Derick Osafo Aboagye (sole trader), ABN 98 844 353 839, Victoria, Australia.

The short version: the estimator works without an account and without telling us who you are. We collect your email when you ask us to email you something, and your calculator inputs when you buy a Decision Pack (so we can generate it). We never sell personal information, to anyone, ever.

1. Using the estimator

You can use the free estimator without providing any personal information. There are no accounts and no sign-up. The details you enter (approval timing, pension status, classification, services and prices) are used in your browser and by our server to calculate the estimate.

2. What we collect, and when

  • When you email yourself an estimate: your email address, your consent choice about update emails, a one-line summary of the estimate, and the estimate PDF (sent as an attachment, not retained by us afterwards).
  • When you buy a Decision Pack: the email address you give at checkout, and the calculator details you entered — these travel with your order so our system can generate your personalised report. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
  • Technical basics: like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. We don’t use advertising trackers.

3. How we use it

  • To deliver what you asked for: an emailed estimate, or a purchased Decision Pack.
  • To provide support — for example re-sending a pack that went to spam.
  • To meet legal obligations, including tax and payment records.
  • Update emails, only with consent: if you tick the box asking to be told when rules or rates change, we may email you about that. Every such email includes an opt-out, and you can opt out any time by replying or emailing us.

4. Where it lives

We keep our footprint small and use a few well-known processors:

  • Stripe — payment processing and order records (including the calculator inputs attached to your order). Stripe is a global company and may process data outside Australia.
  • Zoho Mail (Australian data centre) — our email system, which sends and stores correspondence with you.
  • Vercel — website hosting and server logs; a global provider that may process data outside Australia.

We don’t operate our own customer database, and we don’t enrich, profile, or share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

5. How long we keep it

Payment and order records are kept as long as Australian tax and consumer law requires. Support correspondence is kept while it is useful for helping you. If you asked for update emails, we keep your address until you opt out or ask us to delete it.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records the law requires us to keep). Email hello@homecarecompass.com.au and we’ll act on it promptly. You can opt out of update emails at any time.

7. Security

Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS). Payments are handled by Stripe under their PCI-DSS obligations. Email is sent over authenticated, encrypted channels. No system is perfectly secure, but we deliberately minimise what we collect so there is little to lose.

8. Children

The service is designed for adults arranging aged care. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.

9. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we’ll do our best to fix it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above will change when we do.
